The King of Algiers

The King of Algiers evolved from the sketch at the top of the page, that was drawn in a bar one evening in Amsterdam. It was just a doodle, yet as is the case with many of my spontaneous sketches, information tends to eventually migrate to finished pieces.

The finished drawing is Stabilo 8046 pencil on grained glass, 12" x 16".
